update 2024, from cambridge to the road ahead

As my current home nation is on the eve of history, I realized a blog posting was long, long overdue. As always, I want to give my most sincere thanks to my listeners who keep returning to What Lies Beyond and suggesting it to new listeners. I have been deeply humbled to be made aware that as of this year (2024) we have been listened to in 84 different nations. I know the hiatus has been long with many hopeful starts and stops but there are truly exciting things afoot for 2025.

The hiatus began as the world shut down in 2020 with the onset of the COVID19 pandemic and seeing to the health of my family, myself, and my community became paramount. But even as the world shut down, the horizons of my own world was given an opportunity to open in a way that I had dreamt of for many, many years. Through online and in-person opportunities, I was able to return to university and expand my knowledge base well beyond religion and religious history into the utterly fascinating and astounding fields of archaeology and heritage first through Oxford University and then in pursuit of a full Diploma in Archaeology via Cambridge University. I am enormously happy to share that, as of now, I have completed my studies, successfully passed with high marks, and will be awarded my diploma in Cambridge this upcoming spring! 

    Though my studies finished and I took a long overdue break with my family to recoup and celebrate, I have been hard at work this autumn and will continue to be hard at work this winter as I comb through literally thousands of pages of research from the last five years of intensive study - some of these incredible topics include both World Wars, the science of death including osteology and recovery of remains from war torn lands, the heritage of conflict that echoes in the physical and spiritual inheritance of individuals and whole communities, and even the latest cutting edge research in the actual biological and neurological scientific studies of spirituality and esotericism upon human beings. 
    When the 2020 pandemic began, I had a fully completed manuscript that was undergoing its final revisions - the dreadful tsunami of death and emotional impact upon the world made me scrap everything I had been planning as I felt the deep call of my own Soul to embark upon this deeper and far more challenging path to find answers to share with humanity for its enlightenment… and its healing.
While another book and the creation of audiobooks is on the docket - as well as Season 3 of What Lies Beyond - a new door has opened.

A year of discussions and planning with my agent and creative team has us preparing to launch a dedicated YouTube channel. While it is tempting to simply pursue an extension of the podcast, this channel will be something very, very special. Its development has been transforming me -  over the last five years I have felt like the caterpillar dissolving from my former self only to find myself being entirely transformed (a scientific symbolism my listeners will remember well from the episode ‘The Soul of Death’ in Season 1).

Within this cocoon of creativity, whole new worlds of possibility have opened with grander plans than I had ever imagined. After years of positive feedback from so many of you via email, my YouTube channel will see my voice helm a new healing format of video that will combine storytelling with binaural and therapeutic sound techniques and imagery to help guide viewers through issues such as anxiety, insomnia, phobias, and aide in not only healing, but soul reconnection. In this venture, I am so grateful and pleased to welcome my daughter into our creative team as she brings her own background in computer science to expand our horizons and digital reach. 

    Again, I am so eternally grateful to all of you and I promise that the wait will have been worthwhile when we launch next summer. I thank all of you for your patience, your wonderful feedback and inspiring stories, and thank you for the deep honor you give me when you invite me into your worlds every time you read my words or listen to my voice. 
I truly believe that despite the dark forces of autocracy and wannabe dictatorship that have arisen with so many of our digital advances, we have never found ourselves in a stronger place as human beings to unite and use our voices and our Souls to not only heal the planet, but help humanity evolve past these growing pains and into a better future.
